Monday, June 2, 2025 | New Chalk Drawing | Day in the Life Homeschool
My name is Hana and this is Pepper and Pine.
On Friday, I said to check back on Monday for the finish chalk drawing and I’m happy to announce that I was able to get it done over the weekend. It’s of the Mars landscape with the Mars Rover, with Olympus Mons in the background. While I like the way, it turned out, it was really frustrating working with my chalkboard. I’m either going to get a new one or fix this one with a new coat of chalkboard paint.
Welcome to our Monday, June 2, 2025 Homeschool Day. I’m homeschooling my 14-year old daughter. It’s Monday! The weather is great, the sun is shining, and I have high hopes for today. We have the whole day spread out in front of us with only one evening obligation. Unfortunately, the school day doesn’t go quite as planned. We had an extremely busy weekend and while we got so much done, we really needed a good portion of Monday to finish off chores from the weekend. We had done the majority of our grocery shopping over the weekend and needed to put some non-perishables away. When I do any kind of bulk shopping, it takes extra time to put those things into mason jars and get everything sorted and put away.
Also, over the weekend we had a lot of personal obligations which really limited our time to get things like laundry and house chores completed. This morning my daughter spent a considerable amount of time helping with chores. And while I was taking care of some obligations, she worked on her key to geometry and her independent reading for astronomy, the book on Nicholas Copernicus.
Even though we had an early start to our day, we didn’t get as much done as I expected in part because we had other obligations that overflowed from the weekend, and in part because we both felt either unmotivated to do lesson work or tired. So that we wouldn’t waste the day, we spent the majority of the time doing enjoyable work for our astronomy main lesson book. We read from our assortment of books had great meaningful discussions, and end the day at 5:30 PM. I continued working on a few school things into the evening and wrapped up at around 9 PM.Astronomy Resources
