Homeschool Chit Chat 2017-2018
I wish I had kept this series up throughout the years because it was the best retroactive lesson planning video log! Each month I gave a detailed explanation of what we had accomplished in that 4 weeks of homeschooling for my three children (oldest had since graduated). In 2017, I was homeschooling my son age 15, my son age 11 and my daughter age 6. My oldest at the time was 19 and a full time university student. I shared student work and projects and the main lesson blocks we were working on.

Homeschool Chit Chat | August 2017
Oh my summer is coming to an end, and I'm not ready for homeschool! Actually, school officially started, but we plan to 'officially' start after Labor Day Weekend, which traditionally marks the end of summer and the beginning of fall and school...at least in my mind ;)

Homeschool Chit Chat | September 2017
I can't believe we're not homeschooling! Whaaat! It's already mid-September, and we are not homeschooling yet. Well, a number of things have happened, and I'm going to share them with you now.

Homeschool Chit Chat | October 2017
We finally started school last month, and it's been... interesting. We do start at 8am, but we just go the whole day! Our life activities and homeschool activities overlap and it ends up taking all day to do our work. It's definitely something we are going to work on this month.

I did pretty well at covering everything in the video, but the one thing I forget is that my lesson plans for all my main lesson blocks will be available via Homeschool Panda, but I haven't posted them yet. Here are the videos I mentioned:

Homeschool Chit Chat | October 2017
We finally started school last month, and it's been... interesting. We do start at 8am, but we just go the whole day! Our life activities and homeschool activities overlap and it ends up taking all day to do our work. It's definitely something we are going to work on this month. Because we've had sooooo many crafting projects for homeschool, we've been busy the whole day crafting, schooling, reading, and more.
I'm writing our Ocean Main Lesson block and that's taking far longer than I expected. I'm really pleased with it, but still, it's taking several hours a day. Not to mention, the several hours to teach the main lesson as well as the several hours devoted to my 6-year-old's activities which are primarily crafting oriented, telling and reading stories, playing a lot of games and baking up delicious fall treats.
But hey! I have another giveaway for you! This is for the wet felting kit by Rainbow River Designs.
You can also find it at A Child's Dream.

I'll come back to this video to let you know as well :)
So I felted a giant turnip! Based on Russian folktale The Giant Turnip from the book, Autumn, and inspired by the Living Tree's giant turnip.
And here's where you can find that book.
Here's a link to those awesome peg dolls with arms!
Our cooking classes have come to an end, but we'll pick them up again in the new year. There are still a few more videos in that series coming up.
On a personal note, I've taken some time for myself and hired a personal trainer! She comes to my home twice a week and it's awesome!! I love it and highly encourage you to try a trainer if you need to get in shape and don't seem to have the internal motivation to do so on your own. This has been my BEST fitness decision ever!

Instead of summarizing the content in the video, I'll just share these highlights:
We are done with our Ocean Main Lesson Block and possibly our Mineralogy Main Lesson Block. There may be a few more assignments with that one. Astronomy is coming up followed by our history units in the new year with geometry and physics rounding out the year. We are in the middle of our Winter seasonal themed unit that my 11-year-old son is participating in to the somewhat annoyance of my 6-year-old.
We continue with our Form Drawing Main Lesson block. If you want to continue to see "real-time" lesson, please let me know in the comment section.
Here are the video playlists I mentioned in the video:
Giveaway open to US residents and ends December 31, 2017
